(A) Perspectives in Education

  1. NEP-2020 - Foundational Literacy and Numeracy; Equitable and Inclusive Education: Learning for All; Curriculum and Pedagogy in Schools; Holistic & Integrated Learning; Competency-based learning and Education
  2. Historically studying the National Policies in education with special reference to school education
  3. Role of school in achieving aims of education.
  4. Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, Guiding Principles for Child Rights, Protecting and provisioning for the rights of children to a safe and secure school environment
  5. School Curriculum Principles: Perspective, Learning and Knowledge, School Stages, Pedagogy and Assessment, Curricular Areas

 

(b) Understanding the Learner

  1. Concept of growth, maturation and development, principles and debates of development, development tasks and challenges
  2. Domains of Development: Physical, Cognitive, Socio-emotional, Moral etc., Deviations in development and its implications
  3. Understanding Adolescence: Needs, challenges and implications for designing institutional support.
  4. Role of Primary and Secondary Socialization agencies. Ensuring Home school continuity.
  5. Mental Health and well-being (MANODARPAN)

 

(c) Understanding Teaching Learning

  1. Theoretical perspectives on Learning - Behaviorism, Constructivism and Cognitivism with reference to their implications for -

i. The role of the teacher and learner

ii. Nature of teacher-student relationship

iii. Classroom environment 

iv. Choice of teaching methods, etc.

v. Understanding of discipline, power etc

2. Factors affecting learning and their implications for Planning student activities, Designing classroom instructions and Creating learning spaces in school

3. Planning and Organization of Teaching-Learning

i. Concept of Syllabus, Competency-based Education, Overt and Hidden Curriculum

ii. Preparation of school time table

iii. Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, Early Childhood Care and Education

iv. Competency-based Education, Experimental Learning 

v. Instructional material and resources

vi. Instructional Plans - Unit Plan, Lesson Plan, Year Plan

vii. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for teaching-learning 

viii. Assessment of learning, for learning and as learning: Meaning, purpose and considerations in planning each.

ix. Enhancing Teaching Learning processes: Reflections and Dialogues as a means of constructivist teaching, Classroom Observation and Feedback, etc.

 

(d) Creating Conducive Learning Environment

  1. Inclusive Education: The concepts of disability, diversity, and Inclusion, implications of disability as a social construct, types of disabilities-their identification and interventions
  2. Provisioning for guidance and counselling. Concept of School Mental Health, addressing the curative, preventive and promotive dimensions of mental health for all students and staff, etc.

Puzzles and Seating Arrangement, Blood Relation, Logical Reasoning, Mirror Image, Order and Ranking, Verbal and non-verbal types, analogies, similarities, Directions, Coding-decoding, Syllogism, and more.

Computer Literacy

General Concept of Social Networking, Abbreviations, Internet, Web Technology, History and Evaluation of Computers, Computer Software & Hardware, Generations and Types of Computers, Basic Computer Terminology & Shortcuts, Operating Systems, Computer Memory or Storage Devices, etc.

Leave travel concession rules for school safety and security, CCS (CCA) Rules, CCS (Conduct) Rules, CCS (Leave) Rules, Fundamental & Supplementary Rules, Pension Rules & New Pension Scheme, Medical Attendance Rules, Provident Fund Rules, etc.
